Join us for a fun-filled day of exercise and giving back to your community! The Fourth Annual Flash Run will host a chip-timed 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and new this year is a Kids K! The Kids K is a free event for kids ages 10 and under. It will be a quarter mile run/walk and all participants will receive a participation ribbon.
We are also very excited to be hosting our event in conjunction with Stephens County Frontier Days & Bob Drake Memorial Chuckwagon Cook-off this year. We expect that our family-friendly run will be a perfect fit with this historic event that draws thousands of people to Stephens County every year! This festival consists of 2 days of entertainment, vendors, food booths, competitions (42 tournament, horseshoe pitching, and more), and a carnival fun zone! Visit the chamber website for more details about the weekend events at www.breckenridgetexas.com.
All proceeds from the race will directly benefit the Adam Nicholas Garcia Agriculture Memorial Scholarship Fund which is given to graduating seniors at Breckenridge High School, Albany High School, Throckmorton High School, Bryson High School and Newcastle High School who have participated in Ag, FFA, or who have plans to pursue a degree in Agriculture.
To date, 25 seniors have been awarded over $15,000 in college scholarships.
Thank you for helping us help our future!
This race was created to raise money for the Adam Nicholas Garcia Agriculture Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship was created by the family of Adam Garcia after he tragically passed in 2009. Adam was a vibrant, energetic, fun-loving young man who had a great passion for life. He loved working at the ranch, hanging out with his friends, mission trips to Mexico, and working with children. Adam had planned to attend Tarleton State University and pursue a degree in Agriculture. Unfortunately, we will never get to see him walk across that stage and get his diploma, but we will not let his dreams stop there. It is our goal to keep Adam’s memory and his dreams alive by helping other students with similar goals.
